Vilma Thomas
Children’s Ministry Coordinator
Hi! I’m Vilma Thomas. I was born in El Salvador, raised in Chicago, and have called Marietta home for over 20 years. As an ESOL teacher at Hickory Hills, I always joke with my students that they get a whole week off (spring break) just to celebrate my birthday—April 4th!
My husband, Paul, and I have been married for over 20 years after meeting in college. He works in IT, and we have two wonderful (and very busy!) kids. Olivia is in college studying marine biology at Nova Southeastern in Fort Lauderdale and is a big anime fan. Joey is at Marietta High School, where he’s involved in the Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Scouts. Both of our children are actively involved in the youth group here at the Factory and have been learning so much from Pastor Eric.
Our family has been attending The Factory since shortly after it started at the movie theater, and I’ve been involved in the Children’s Ministry for quite some time. As a family, we’re also part of the Compassion Team and love having the opportunity to serve #theothersixdays.
In my (rare) free time, I dream of becoming a great photographer and love relaxing by the pool with a good book.
