Baptism

Baptism is a public profession of faith to symbolize an internal decision to dedicate your life to Christ. So although Baptism does not give us eternal salvation, it does proclaim to your family, your friends and your church that you are dying to your old self and are raised to a new life in Christ Jesus.

Q: Why should I be baptized?
A:   Because Christ modeled it.
       “It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.” Mark 1:9

Because Christ commanded it.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matt. 28:19

Because it identifies us with the message of Christ.
“Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.” Acts 2:41

Q:   Will I be fully immersed in water?
A:    Yes

Q:    Do you baptize babies?
A:    No. We baptize those who are old enough to make a personal decision to dedicate their lives to Christ. We do baby/child dedications for small children.
